The launch of the focused discussion sessions for the national study, “Analysis of the Current Status of Inclusive Education in Private Schools in Jordan”, implemented by the Jordanian Masarat for Development and Progress in close collaboration with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD). Insights led and facilitated the opening session and presented the study’s foundational framework.

- Review the current status of inclusive education in private schools and identify key challenges.
- Discuss structural, cultural, and financial barriers and explore opportunities to strengthen inclusive practices.
- Identify technical support and specialized training needs to empower educational staff.

Context
The launch of the focused discussion sessions for the national study, “Analysis of the Current Status of Inclusive Education in Private Schools in Jordan”, marks an important milestone in this initiative, which is being implemented by the Jordanian Masarat for Development and Progress, in close collaboration with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD).
I had the privilege of leading and facilitating the opening session, moderating the discussion, and presenting the study’s foundational framework on behalf of Insights Consultancy and Studies.
The first-day session brought together a distinguished group of experts, decision-makers, and practitioners, including representatives from: • The Ministry of Education • Private school principals and academic leaders • Experts specialized in inclusive education • The Queen Rania Teacher Academy and the National Center for Learning Disabilities
The discussions moved directly beyond theory to address practical issues and real-world challenges, focusing on several key areas: • The Current Status of Inclusive Education: Examining how inclusive education is being implemented and experienced in private school classrooms, while identifying the key challenges affecting its effective application. • Addressing Barriers: Engaging in an open discussion on the structural, cultural, and financial barriers that may hinder progress, while also exploring opportunities to strengthen inclusive practices. • Empowering Educational Staff: Identifying the technical support and specialized training needs of private school staff to enable them to implement inclusive education effectively.
The outcomes of the first day demonstrated the significant value these sessions can bring to the study. The collaborative engagement and diversity of expertise generated a rich body of practical insights and actionable evidence that will directly contribute to shaping the study’s final findings and transforming the research into a practical roadmap for advancing inclusive education in Jordan.
