Day 2: Discussion sessions with educators on inclusive education

Building on the successful start of Day 1, we continued today with the discussion sessions for the important study, “Analysis of the Current Status of Inclusive Education in Private Schools in Jordan”, implemented by the Jordanian Masarat for Development and Progress in partnership with the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD).

Once again, I had the privilege of leading and facilitating today’s session, presenting updates on the research and framing the discussion on behalf of Insights Consultancy and Studies.

While Day 1 focused on the perspectives of decision-makers and institutions, Day 2 brought us closer to the realities of the classroom and field-based practices, through a rich and direct exchange with educators who drive change every day, including: • Private school principals and directors • Teachers and frontline education practitioners • Experts and specialists in education and inclusive education

The discussions focused on the practical aspects and day-to-day realities of implementing inclusive education practices, covering several key areas: • The Educators’ Perspective: Exploring teachers’ real-life experiences in managing inclusive classrooms and discussing successful field practices and experiences. • Real-World Challenges and Practical Opportunities: Examining the immediate operational and field-level challenges faced by teachers, while also identifying realistic opportunities to improve existing school environments and strengthen their capacity for inclusion. • Training and Technical Gaps: Identifying the pedagogical tools, technical resources, and specialized training frameworks that educational staff need to effectively support students with disabilities.

The field experiences and insights gathered today represent significant value for the study. By combining the institutional perspective explored on Day 1 with the practical classroom realities discussed on Day 2, we are building a comprehensive evidence base to ensure that the study’s final findings provide practical and actionable recommendations for advancing inclusive education in Jordan’s private education sector.
